Beginner Disc Dog |
|
This
class is for any
person who is new to
disc dogging and would
like to gain an understanding of what
this sport is about and
learn how to get your
dog started. Topics will
include getting your dog
started with disc play,
sliders, rollers,
tugging, takes, overs,
and short tosses. |

|
Beginner Throwing |
|
This class will teach
basic throwing
techniques, including a
variety of beginner
level throws such as the
backhand, forehand,
floater versus dart,
accuracy and mechanics. |
|
|
| |
|
Basic Freestyle |
|
This class will teach
you
how to get started doing
freestyle and how to put
together a freestyle
routine in a manner
that is safe for both
you and your dog.
Topics will include
putting sets and tricks
together, use of the
field and disc
management, learning how
to do tricks like flips,
overs, vaults, zig zag
pass, around the world,
and transitions. |

Intermediate Throwing |
|
This class will teach a
variety of intermediate
level throws and
releases (staker, push,
overhand wrist flip,
hammer toss, upside
down, thumber, and
variations), along with improving
accuracy while achieving
greater distance. |

|
Rules, Formats, and
Equipment |
|
This class will teach
the competition format
differences, game
differences with demos,
typical strategies, disc
selection, vault vests,
and other related
topics. |
|

|
|
|
Long Distance Throwing
(Men's and Women's) |
|
This class will teach
techniques for getting
maximum distance and
various long
distance competition
formats and strategies. |
|
|
|
|
|
Mini Competition |
|
Its time to take all
that you've learned at
the clinics and put that
knowledge to use!
We will host a small,
informal Toss & Fetch
competition at the end
of the day. This
will be for everyone
participating in the
Learning Clinic.
You don't need to be an
experienced player to
take part in the mini
competition!

Fees: |
$10.00 per person. Members
receive their regular event discount at registration.
|
|
Rules: |
-
Arrive early and be
prepared to start at 10 AM sharp.
-
Walk
your dog on leash away from the playing and teaching
areas. Make sure to clean up after your dog.
-
Do not let your dog off leash unless it is competing
or participating in a clinic.
-
Poor
sportsmanship of any sort is not tolerated.
-
Mind
your dog at all times. Do not let un-proofed dogs meet.
-
Be
mindful of the schedule and make sure to walk your dog
during the breaks. A smooth running
event is better for everyone.

Discs: |
Any
dog-safe disc including Hero, Hyperflite, Fastback
variations, Floppy Flyers, Jawz, Euroblends, Super Hero, Hero
Xtra, Kong rubber, etc. All discs must be considered
safe for dog use.
